As part of the 129th Annual Texas Division Reunion, attendees are invited to take part in a guided Confederate Heritage Tour of Tyler, Texas, offering a rare and immersive look into East Texas’ Civil War history.
This curated tour combines historic sites, living-history interpretation, and relaxed travel aboard a modern, air-conditioned motor coach.

Tour Highlights
Oakwood Cemetery – Living History Experience
Walk among history at Oakwood Cemetery, where Confederate veterans quite literally come to life. At select gravesites, costumed actors portraying real Confederate soldiers will share their personal wartime stories, service records, and post-war lives—creating a powerful and memorable living-history experience.

Goodman-LeGrand House & Museum
Visit one of Tyler’s most beautiful and historic homes: the Goodman-LeGrand House & Museum, once home to Confederate veteran Dr. Samuel Goodman.
Guests will enjoy:

Tyler Confederate Ordnance Works Site (Brief Stop)

Camp Ford Historic Site (Brief Stop)
Conclude the tour with a visit to Camp Ford, the largest Confederate prisoner-of-war camp west of the Mississippi River. This solemn site provides perspective on the human cost of war and the scale of Confederate operations in East Texas.
